LEADERSHIP STYLE

A sum greater than its parts

Overland’s Leaders

SIMPLY THE BEST

Our leaders are central to our mission: for students to truly see the beauty and promise of the world around them, they need excellent leaders, who help them flourish into the adults they are destined to become.

Meet our leaders

LEADERS THAT SET US APART

CAREFULLY SELECTED

Far more than counselors, Overland’s leaders are role models of the highest caliber. Our leaders focus on creating supportive and wholesome environments where each student can flourish.

WORKING TOGETHER

All our leaders will work closely with one or two co-leaders – essential partners who share the work of leading equally, and provide comprehensive care and supervision to their group.

THOROUGHLY PREPARED

All leaders come to our headquarters in Williamstown, MA, for a 14-day leader training period immediately prior to their trips. As they leave training, they are experts in their trips, and eager to welcome their students.

“I believe leadership is being able to love and care for all of the team members…

I’ve learned that leadership does not only rest on the “leader.” In a team, we all can and should lead. This summer, I’ll strive to empower and encourage ownership in each and every team member over our summer adventure!”
