Brooks Brown
Assistant Director, Trip Planning
Growing up, I always felt that being outside and active was the best way to come together. Whether I was running around during a sports practice, cruising around my neighborhood on bikes or skateboards, or going on an Overland trip with new friends, being able to connect with others outside has been a constant in my life.
As an Overland student, I saw how the rhythms and routines of an Overland trip have a unique way of forging strong bonds. As a leader for four summers, I got to facilitate those experiences for others. Whether my students were hiking through New England or summiting Mount Kilimanjaro, I saw the same bonds being formed over a shared experience, outside, and away from the distractions of their everyday lives. Watching Overland students accomplish a common goal and doing so with laughter and warmth has shown me that no matter how many years have gone by, I still believe in the power of it.
On the Admissions team, I hope to help families find the best opportunity for their child to be able to adventure outside, make new friendships, and fall in love with a new remarkable place in the world. I’m excited to see students grow through accomplishing age appropriate challenges with Overland and make lifelong friendships along the way.
