My fondest memories of the outdoors are of camping in the White Mountains or bundled up for a walk on the beach in Maine after a snowstorm. Treasure hunting on adventures like these sparks my curiosity about the world around me. Curiosity in the outdoors brought me to teaching 8th-grade science for the past 26 years. I find joy when a student has an “Ah-Ha” moment after an observation discovery.
My son’s experience on an Overland trip, and the Overland stories my students shared with me, led me to a job with Overland. I enjoy working with an impressive group of talented and thoughtful people who offer outdoor adventures for young people. What could be better than creating an opportunity for students to observe the world around them?
