We Welcome Your Application to Join Us!

We build each of our groups with care, keeping the groups small (no more than twelve students), and paying close attention to age, grade, gender, and the mix of hometowns and schools. Our goal is to put together great groups — groups where nice kids thrive in a supportive, wholesome, and caring environment. Please note: availability as shown is based on students traveling without a friend; if your child is interested in traveling with a friend, please call our office for availability.

Iceland Expedition

A two week expedition among volcanoes, hot springs, and waterfalls.

Iceland: it’s out of this world

In Landmannalaugar, day hike in Iceland’s Highlands beside natural hot springs. On the Laugavegur Route, backpack across black sand deserts and through rich green canyons.

As soon as you leave the airport, you’ll begin to appreciate just how amazing, how spectacular Iceland is.

You and your group will start by heading to Landmannalaugar. In the heart of Iceland’s Highlands, you’ll warm up your legs on beautiful day hikes past bubbling hot springs, ancient volcanic craters, and breathtaking peaks.

A backcountry hike along the Laugavegur and Fimmvörðuháls routes is next. For six days, you’ll hike past colorful rolling hills, steaming geothermal vents, and snowy peaks. After ascending Fimmvörðuháls pass, over the world’s newest mountains, you’ll finish the hike at the awe-inspiring Skógafoss waterfall.

We’ll return to Reykjavik via the breathtaking Golden Circle. After you leave the backcountry, you’ll explore the natural wonders of the Golden Circle Route on the journey back to Reykjavik. Then, you’ll team up with professional guides for a full day of rafting in the Gullfoss Canyon.

Through all of these adventures, your group will become close. That’s the point, really. See one of the world’s most arresting landscapes with a group of like-minded adventurers, sharing stories, laughter, and fun every step of the way.

When you head home — wherever home is — you’ll see everything just a little bit differently. It’s partly the magic of Iceland, it’s partly something else, something hard to define. For most people, life is reassuringly routine, comfortingly predictable. But for you, having seen this land of fire and ice, you’ll know there is a big beautiful world out there that is anything but routine and hardly predictable. Having explored Iceland, having seen its spectacular landscape, you’ll be eager to get back out there to see more, do more, explore more, live more.
