We Welcome Your Application to Join Us!
We build each of our groups with care, keeping the groups small (no more than twelve students), and paying close attention to age, grade, gender, and the mix of hometowns and schools. Our goal is to put together great groups — groups where nice kids thrive in a supportive, wholesome, and caring environment. Please note: availability as shown is based on students traveling without a friend; if your child is interested in traveling with a friend, please call our office for availability.

Hometown: Bethesda, Maryland
College: Colgate University
When I was a sophomore in college, I started a hiking club at Colgate University to help other students enjoy the beauty of upstate New York.
Originally from Bethesda, Maryland, I graduated from Colgate in 2019 with a double major in peace and conflict studies and Middle Eastern and Islamic studies. I am also a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. At Colgate, aside from leading the hiking club, I directed my co-ed a cappella group, worked as a writing consultant in my university’s writing and speaking center, and tutored at a local refugee center. I am grateful to have received four awards for my leadership involvement on campus over the past four years, most notably the George W. Cobb Fellows Award, which recognizes Colgate students who “effectively exercised leadership skills to make outstanding contributions to our community.” My passion for the Middle East and foreign policy inspired me to study abroad during the fall of my junior year in Morocco, where I lived with a host family in the capital city Rabat. Also, I participated in a program focused on Arabic, multiculturalism, and human rights. Outside of academics, I love music, spending time outside, and cooking.
In 2019, I led Service & Hiking New England. Overland left me, my co-leaders, and my students as better, stronger people. Overland pushed us all out of our typical routine and comfort zones and introduced us to people who will make a lasting impact on us.
