We build each of our groups with care, keeping the groups small (no more than twelve students), and paying close attention to age, grade, gender, and the mix of hometowns and schools. Our goal is to put together great groups — groups where nice kids thrive in a supportive, wholesome, and caring environment. Please note: availability as shown is based on students traveling without a friend; if your child is interested in traveling with a friend, please call our office for availability.

How to Apply

Apply online using a credit card for the $795 deposit (your card will not be charged until we confirm a spot for you). Applications are reviewed in the order in which they are received (we do not hold spots over the phone).

When to Apply

The flow of applications starts in July and peaks in January/February. Some groups fill by the December holidays, and others will have space into the late spring. Our advice? Apply as soon as possible — it only takes a few minutes — and we’ll get to work right away to find a great spot for you.

Payment & Travel Protection

Payment Policy

A deposit of $795 is due with the application. Full payment is due on March 1. For applications received after March 1, full payment is due within 14 days.

Please note:
  • If your child’s trip choices are not available, we will not charge your credit card.
  • We accept credit cards for the deposit of $795, and accept check, e-check, or credit cards for the final balance.
  • If, upon our review of your child’s Admissions Review Forms, the offer of a spot is withdrawn by Overland, a full refund of all payments to Overland will be made.
  • If, at any point in the admissions process, we determine that you have provided incomplete, misleading, or false statements, we may withdraw the offer of admission.
  • The $295 of the $795 deposit remains refundable until March 1. 
  • If you withdraw your child after March 1 (notice of the withdrawal must be made in writing), there are no refunds for any reason whatsoever (including, but not limited to: voluntary withdrawal, illness or injury, summer school, security concerns, or any other reason).
  • If your child leaves a trip after it starts, there are no refunds for any reason whatsoever, including, but not limited to: voluntary withdrawal, illness or injury, dismissal by Overland (due to discipline, behavior, lack of fitness or motivation, etc.), security concerns, or any other reason. Any costs incurred by Overland related to an early departure are the sole responsibility of the parents.
Travel Protection Plan1

As trip payments to Overland are non-refundable after March 1st, we recommend that all Overland families purchase a travel protection plan.

We offer a travel protection plan from Trip Mate. You can view detailed information about the plan at www.tripmate.com/wpF434B or by calling Trip Mate directly at 833-297-2255 and referring to Plan #F434B. You can purchase this plan directly through the Overland Family Portal.

Please note these two important deadlines:

  1. The basic travel protection plan must be purchased at the time of (or before) your final payment.
  2. Trip Mate offers a supplemental Cancel for Any Reason (CFAR) benefit that must be purchased 60 days prior to the start of the trip (CFAR is not available to residents of New York state).
Travel Protection for International Students

The plan above offered by Trip Mate is not available to families who do not have a U.S. address. Canadian residents can sign up for a plan directly through Trip Mate. For other non-US residents, similar plans can be purchased directly through Seven Corners.
