College: Skidmore College

At Skidmore College, I competed with the ultimate Frisbee team and was an active member of the Skidmore Outing Club, spending many weekends competing in tournaments or going on hikes and rock climbing.

Originally from Highland Park, New Jersey, I graduated from Skidmore College in 2016. I majored in geoscience with a minor in music studying jazz guitar. I also studied abroad in New Zealand his junior year, and I actively participated in many jazz ensembles. I’m applying to graduate school to study fluid-rock interactions with a focus on microbial activity, and hoping to apply this to planetary studies (think life on other planets). I love to spend as much time as I can outside, whether its running, biking, hiking or playing a game of ultimate Frisbee or soccer. If I’m not outside, I’m practicing music and looking to play with friends, find new gigs or even fill in for the pit orchestra of a musical. At the end of the day, I like to get absorbed into a nice book and enjoy a tall glass of milk.

As an Overland student, I  was a participant on New England Explorer and Paris to the Sea. In 2014, I led Berkshire Adventure and Cape Cod & the Islands; in 2015, I led New England Coast; in 2016, I led California; and in 2017, I led the American Challenge. I love leading for Overland because I enjoy helping kids explore the world, and I love sharing the same joy and excitement my leaders showed me when I was a camper. My trips with Overland helped shape who I am today, and I want to help Overland students find the same excitement and confidence.
